Hanoi Half-Day City Tour by Vintage Minsk Motorbike
Tour Highlights
About This Tour
Hanoi is often called the “motorbike capital of Vietnam”, with millions of scooters flowing through its streets every day. To truly understand the city, you don’t just watch from the sidewalk — you ride straight into its rhythm.
This Hanoi Food Tour by Minsk Motorcycle takes you deep into the city’s hidden backstreets on a legendary USSR Vintage Minsk motorcycle, guided by experienced local drivers and storytellers. In just four hours, you’ll explore secret alleys, historic quarters, railway-side neighborhoods, and the peaceful Red River island, while tasting some of the most authentic Hanoi street food loved by locals.
It’s fast, flavorful, immersive — and far beyond the usual tourist trail.

Itinerary
The route may vary slightly due to traffic or weather, but core experiences and food stops remain unchanged.
Start the journey by slipping into narrow alleys where Hanoi’s daily life unfolds. Pass local markets, residential streets, and lesser-known corners of the city. This is where you see how people really live — cooking, trading, fixing, chatting — far from tourist crowds.
Cruise through tree-lined boulevards and colonial architecture of the French Quarter, then dive into the buzzing Old Quarter where tradition and modern life collide. Along the way, you’ll pass iconic areas and city landmarks while your guide shares stories behind the streets.
Stop at a railway-side café area for a drink and a unique glimpse of daily life along the tracks (visit subject to current safety regulations). A short but unforgettable Hanoi moment.
Cross the legendary Long Bien Bridge — a symbol of Hanoi’s resilience — and enter a completely different world. Explore the Red River island, home to banana plantations, vegetable gardens, and riverside communities living at a slower pace, offering a striking contrast to the busy city.
The journey isn’t complete without tasting Hanoi’s soul. Along the way, we’ll stop at carefully selected local spots to sample a variety of traditional flavors — light bites, comforting classics, seasonal treats, and a beloved Hanoi specialty drink to finish on a sweet note.
Vegetarian and vegan options are available with advance notice.
End the tour at your hotel or a central location. Your guide will happily recommend more local food spots, cafés, and hidden experiences for the rest of your stay.

We had a fantastic tour with Trung and got an incredible understanding of Hanoi and Vietnam which would never have happened on our own. Highly recommended!!
I went to Hanoi with my girlfriend and was looking for an authentic tour that would allow me to see the city outside the chaos of mass tourism, and I must say I succeeded! We did see very touristy attractions, such as the train that passes through the shops, but we also experienced the part of the city that no one sees, like Banana Island!! Boo and his team are truly very knowledgeable and love their work; highly recommended!!!!
An amazing morning through the backstreets of Hanoi. Boo Dung was insightful, accomodating and the best photographer as well. His knowledge of Hanoi and Vietnam history was excellent, making the tour even more interesting. Will definitely be back and ask for Boo again. Great sense of humour as well.
A must do while in Hanoi - backstreet/food tour of Hanoi - fantastic half day tour visiting the hidden gems of the city on the back of Russian Minsk motorcycles. Our guide Martin is so knowledgeable on all aspects of life not just in Hanoi but the whole of Vietnam. One of our best day tours on our 3 week trip in Vietnam, a definite must do.
If you only have time for one organized activity in Hanoi, make it this Jeep tour. It was an absolute blast from start to finish. Riding in an open-air vintage army Jeep is an incredibly fun, breezy way to take in the city without getting worn out by the heat and traffic.
Had an excellent Minsk Bike tour with Guide and Driver Tommy & Huang. They were both very professional and safe. Highly recommended!
